GED Test Scoring

You will receive a score for each of the 5 GED Tests. Your score can range from 200 to 800. 800 is the highest GED score you can get. In order to pass a test, you must earn more than a 410 on it. Any test that you earn less than a 410 on will need to be retaken. You will pass when you can earn at least a 410 on all 5 tests AND your average score for all 5 tests is 450 or higher. This may vary from state to state.

GED Scores

If you pass some of the tests, but not all, you only need to retake what you did not pass. You can take a test as many times as you need, but there may be a waiting period before you can take the failed test again. You will also need to pay the fees again.

The GED is scored in Maryland by a national testing service.
